Slime

We made some slime the other day, it made it too thin. We'll try again with larger amounts.

Upgraded bike

Even after playing with crank arm length, chain ring and cog size having only one speed was becoming a limitation. I had some old 7 speed parts from my first mountain bike. So, since the frame is steel, I spread the rear triangle from ~122mm to 135, built a new rear wheel, and added a derailleur hanger that fits the dropout. Now Henry will be ready for the week long mountain biking summer camp.

Can we go now?

It had already been a while by the time we got to this point. From the parking lot you had to take a trail to get the bike park. While the start of this trail was marked, not all of it was. So we made several wrong turns to get there. Henry also experienced the limits of nearly slick tires on loose rock, gravel, sand, and dirt. That will be remedied by next weekend. Still, we had a fun time.

Back yard camping

We're planning a camping trip later in august. Last night we got to try out our new tent. Henry loved it and besides reading played with his flashlight until about 10pm. He then still woke up before us.

Bike riding class

We've been using a special handle attached to his seat-post to help him learn to balance, but this class by Bicycle Colorado, really helped Henry get over the last few hurdles to riding by himself.
